Acomhal Research Earns National APLU and AAU Recognition

Acomhal Research Inc., a Virginia Tech spinoff dedicated to combating deadly brain cancer, has been recognized by the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU) and the Association of American Universities (AAU).

Samy Lamouille, research assistant professor at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute (VTCRI) and chief executive officer of Acomhal Research, will represent the company at the APLU’s University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Showcase. The event will be held at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.

Founded by Lamouille and Rob Gourdie, the Commonwealth Research Commercialization Fund Eminent Scholar in Heart and Regenerative Medicine at VTCRI, Acomhal Research is one of 22 companies nationwide selected to demonstrate how federally funded university research can improve lives and drive entrepreneurship and innovation.
